OTAI-WZ

The Oil Technologists' Association of India, Western Zone (OTAI-WZ) was established in 1960 under the leadership of late Prof. J. G. Kane. The OTAI-WZ has played an active role in furthering the objectives of the Association since inception. The zone has organized over 20 refresher courses and 30 seminars on national and international scale from 1968. The OTAI on completion of 50 years of its illustrious activities celebrated its Golden Jubilee by organizing an International Seminar and Exposition in 1995 at Mumbai. A National Seminar on “Newer Business Trends in Oleochemicals” was held at Mumbai in 2003.

The 1st International-Asian Soaps, Detergents & Cosmetics (ASDC) Conference was held at Goa in 2005 with resounding success. The last National Seminar on “Value Addition of Oleochemicals” was held at Mumbai in December 2006.

The OTAI-WZ owes its present eminent position to the inspiring leadership and guidance of the distinguished personalities who served as its Patrons and Presidents, namely late Prof. J. G. Kane, late Dr. B. P. Godrej, late Dr. C. B. Khanpara, late Dr. S. M. Patel, Prof. D. Rebello, Prof. V. V. R. Subrahmanyam, Mr. N. B. Godrej, Mr. K. V. Mariwala, Dr. K. S. Holla, Dr. A. D. Shitole, Dr. V. V. S. Mani, Prof. T. K. Venkatesan, Dr. B.R.Gaikwad and Prof. D.N. Bhowmick.
